The ongoing mission for STL is to eliminate, or at least drastically reduce, lighting maintenance so that skilled and valuable personnel time can be spent more productively elsewhere on the plant or site. The new KERN range is a compact industrial and emergency luminaire designed for ATEX/IECEX Zone 1/21 and Zone 2/22/21 hazardous areas. The housing is made of robust and UV stable polycarbonate, ensuring long-term durability. The luminaire can be equipped with a dimming function (DALI) on request. The Zone 1/21 emergency version is supplied with Auto-Test as standard and both ranges are equipped with a magnetic switch that allows control of the emergency function without opening the luminaire.

Another new range, LORD, is a robust linear luminaire designed for hazardous environments of ATEX/IECEX zone 1/21. The body, now up to 5ft and with high lumen output, is made of highly durable extruded aluminium with an ELOX surface treatment guaranteeing an extremely high C5M resistance in marine and coastal environments. The silicone seal guarantees not only extremely high resistance to water and dust IP66/67/69 but also guarantees high resistance to chemicals or oils. The innovative smooth design reduces the accumulation of dust and water on the surface of the luminaire, and the smart design allows for effective heat dissipation. Suitable for extreme ambient temperatures from -40 °C to +60 °C, the luminaire is mounted using innovative brackets that allow for a wide, flexible mounting distance, making it a suitable choice when replacing old luminaires.

The EXTRA-N-LED linear range for zone 2/22/21 has been fitted with a new generation of LED modules. Due to the improved efficacy of the modules, up to 155lm/W, the 5ft versions are now available with an incredible lumen output in excess of 16,300 lumens and can be fitted with special optics for aisle applications. This means that the EXTRA range of LED luminaires now offers new opportunities in high ceiling applications in hazardous area. Some of the luminaires can be used in ambient temperatures of up to 60°C.

The modular BERGER-N-LED range of zone 2/22/21 flood/high bay lighting is available with a lumen output of up to 43,650 lumens. A variety of different optics and LED drivers means that the fittings can be adapted for most applications, including ambient temperatures of
up to 70°C.

Another new addition to our hazardous area range is the BORDER-N-LED range of zone 2/22/21 recessed luminaires, ideal for cleanroom applications. Designs are available for different ceiling grid sizes and solid ceilings. 

In addition, the hazardous area range can be supplied with Bluetooth MESH wireless control modules, dimmable DALI drivers and DALI emergency inverters, 1-10V dimmable drivers, Auto-test emergency inverters, Microwave sensors as well as drivers which are dimmable when operating on the DC voltage of a Central Battery.

To complement the range of hazardous area lighting and to provide added flexibility, independent zone 1/21 microwave and photocell switches are also available. The microwave switches are suitable for heights of up to 12m as well as for DALI control systems.

Other LED luminaires are available for specialist applications such as extreme temperatures, up to 75°C, impact resistant of up to 120J (5kg@2.8m), silicone free for paint booths and anti-ligature for prisons and secure healthcare facilities.
