The nominees for the Contribution to Safety Award are: a. Blackline Safety – G6 wearable single-gas detector
G6 is the industry’s first connected portable single-gas detector. It can be configured to detect CO, H2S, SO2 or O2. G6 enables accurate monitoring of the short-term exposure limit (VLCT) of the selected gas and leverages cloud connectivity to report incidents to designated personnel. G6 informs the worker who wears it and alerts identified personnel who can then contact the user of the device to ensure its status. Additionally, G6 is equipped with GPS and cloud connectivity to provide accurate location tracking in Blackline Live whenever an alert is triggered. This allows organisations to quickly deploy an emergency response to protect the worker and resolve the incident. G6 also collects comprehensive data, which is stored in Blackline Analytics dashboards and can be used to prevent similar incidents.
