The nominees for the Contribution to Safety Award are:

a. Blackline Safety – G6 wearable single-gas detector

G6 is the industry’s first connected portable single-gas detector. It can be configured to detect CO, H2S, SO2 or O2. G6 enables accurate monitoring of the short-term exposure limit (VLCT) of the selected gas and leverages cloud connectivity to report incidents to designated personnel. G6 informs the worker who wears it and alerts identified personnel who can then contact the user of the device to ensure its status. Additionally, G6 is equipped with GPS and cloud connectivity to provide accurate location tracking in Blackline Live whenever an alert is triggered. This allows organisations to quickly deploy an emergency response to protect the worker and resolve the incident. G6 also collects comprehensive data, which is stored in Blackline Analytics dashboards and can be used to prevent similar incidents.

The ATEX MULTIFLEX BLOCK® is an installation tool for the DN150 filler opening on IBC Intermediate Bulk Containers. The universal screw cap thread ensures safe screwing onto IBC containers from different manufacturers. The ATEX MULTIFLEX BLOCK® enables gas-tight installation of connection components, couplings, valves and measuring devices for filling, removal and monitoring processes thanks to the different connection threads on the block body. Various components can be easily integrated to optimize the control and monitoring of processes.

It is made of PE-EL material with a specific surface resistance of =106 O cm or with a specific volume resistance of =106 O in accordance with DIN IEC 60093 is classified as electrically conductive (non-chargeable) and therefore complies with the ATEX directives. The Multiflex Block must be electrostatically earthed after installation in an explosive zone. A special connection is therefore provided. The Multiflex Block is suitable for ATEX zones 1 + 2 (in compliance with legal and company-specific safety measures and regulations).
