Hazardex Live 2026 Speaker - Engineering judgement, competence, confidence and AI
At Hazardex Live 2026, Harvey T. Dearden, Engineering Director of HTS Engineering Group, will be holding a discussion on the role of the professional engineer, how to counter the threats from clowns (without a mask), cognitive bias and AI, with particular reference to functional safety and Ex compliance concerns.
About the speaker:
Harvey T. Dearden
is Engineering Director of HTS Engineering Group and a Director of SISSuite Ltd. and Time Domain Solutions Ltd. He is the author of 'Functional Safety in Practice', now in its 5th Edition, and 'Intelligent Ex Inspection'. He is actively involved with the Institute of Measurement & Control and is currently chair of the Explosive Atmospheres Special Interest Group (Ex-SIG).
