The talk shows how its principles can be extended beyond physical systems to digital innovations including digital twins, robotics, AI, and quantum. By applying the technology qualification process to digital systems, organizations can build confidence in adoption, manage risks, and accelerate innovation responsibly across AI, digital twins, quantum computing, and sensor technologies.

About the speaker:

Dr. Chris Bell is a Principal Consultant working in the Digital Energy team of DNV based in Glasgow. Chris is a chartered mechanical engineer who has PhD background in material science. He also holds a master’s degree in physics and applied mathematics, with over 12 years of experience in the R&D industry. Prior to joining the digital energy team Chris worked in the asset risk and technical safety teams where his focus was on the assurance and adoption of new technologies into the energy industry, utilising DNVs technology qualification recommended practice.
